'Binički' Ensemble and Choir of MoD and SAF at concert in Bijeljina
'Stanislav Binicki' Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence and the Mixed Choir of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, together with the Serbian Singing Society 'Srbadija' and the Police Orchestra of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs, performed tonight on the scene of the 'Semberija' Cultural Centre in Bijeljina. The concert was held within the framework of the May Music Festival, and is dedicated to marking the Republika Srpska Army Day and the 800th anniversary of the autonomy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The conductors of the concert were Katarina Božić, Jelena Milićević Trakilović and Dušan Pokrajčić.
Starting with 'Our Father', through 'Christ is Risen', 'Oj Srbijo mila mati' (Hey Serbia, Dear Mother), 'Tamo daleko' (There, Far Away), 'Oro se vije', 'Ovo je Srbija' (This is Serbia), 'Vostani Serbije' (Arise, Serbia), 'Marš na Drinu' (Marsh to the Drina), 'Milosh the Great and Aleksandar I', 'The French boat moves', 'Tobdzijsko kolo' (Artillerymen Round Dance), 'Bojarka' (Noble Woman) and 'Pukni zoro' (Let the Dawn Break), to 'Vostani Serbije' (Arise, Serbia) and 'Marš na Drinu' (Marsh to the Drina), all the melodies were awarded with a thrilling applause.
On behalf of the awarded ones, head of the 'Binički' Ensemble, Navy Commander Svetozar Vasileski, thanked SSS 'Srbadija' congratulating at the same time the holiday, Republika Srpska Army Day, to all its members and the City Veterans Organisation of Bijeljina, as well as the great jubillee of the Serbian Orthodox Church – 800th anniversary of its autonomy.
The 'Binički' Ensemble, as well as Choir of MoD and SAF, have always been gladly seen and listened to at performances in Bijeljina, and this time they were guests in that city at the invitation of the City Veterans Organisation of Bijeljina which hosted the celebration of Republika Srpska Army Day and the 800th anniversary of the autonomy of the Serbian Orthodox Church together with the City Administration of the City of Bijeljina and the Eparchy of Zvornik and Tuzla of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
