Minister of Defence receives highest recognition from Aeronautical Union of Serbia
The “Golden Eagle” award, for outstanding contribution to the aerial sport, which represents special and most important recognition even for the Aeronautical Union of Serbia, has been presented today to Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin. The award to Minister Vulin was presented by the Chairman of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia, Labud Bulatović, in the presence of members of the Managing Board of that Union, Bishop of Pakrac and Slavonia, Jovan (Ćulibrk), one of the founders of the “Arhistratig” Parachute Club of Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade and the chairman of the “Arhistratig” Club, Nenad Kuzmanović.
On this occasion, Minister Vulin thanked for the received award, pointing out that this is in fact a recognition for all members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
- I wish to thank the representatives of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia for this high recognition, because this is not a recognition for me, it is a recognition for all members of the Serbian Armed Forces. This is a recognition of our cooperation and this is a recognition of our common desire, our common passion for freedom. All those who are in the Aeronautical Union of Serbia love freedom above all, just like those who are members of the Serbian Armed Forces who above all value and love freedom. This is the reason for our existence, this is the reason for our lives.
Minister Vulin pointed out that all members of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia, whether they are pilots, modellers, parachutists or glider pilots, are very important for the defence of our country, as well.
- During the NATO aggression, numerous members of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia defended their country actively fighting as parachutists and pilots, but also by making models that deceived the enemy, which protected our materiel, protected our people. Above all, they are all people who love and value freedom. The Aeronautical Union of Serbia is an important organisation for the combat readiness of our armed forces and for the preparation of our armed forces for the defence of our country. It is an organisation that gathers people who love and value freedom above all, which makes them a completely natural partner of the Serbian Armed Forces, Minister Vulin said, stressing that he looks forward to future cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces with that Union, for the benefit of our country.
Chairman of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia, Labud Bulatović, emphasised that what he is proudest of is his cooperation with the Armed Forces and the Police.
- There is nice cooperation both with clubs and individuals, but cooperation with the Armed Forces and the Police is most certainly the best. I think that without the Armed Forces our future would not be bright enough. I hope that the cooperation with the Armed Forces and the Police will continue to develop more and more, because without the Armed Forces we cannot do what we plan to do. You could see this in the Balkan Friendship Jump, Bulatović said, referring to yesterday's military and police capability demonstration dubbed “Defence of Freedom”, held in Niš.
According to him, he experienced the parade personally as a sign of the greatest national dignity.
- What I saw yesterday in Niš, as a member of a generation that has passed through all this, I have experienced the greatest personal dignity and greatest national dignity, the greatest symbol of freedom and strength of Serbia, in which you, as minister, your associates, the leadership of our Armed Forces and Police, led by an extraordinary capable statesman Aleksandar Vučić, have done a lot and we are convinced that you will continue to do it in the future, Bulatović said.
Bulatović said that due to everything that Minister Vulin and his associates do for the benefit of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia and the aerial sport, there is no doubt why the greatest recognition in the Serbian sports aviation is granted exactly to him. He also points out that this support for aerial sport is important not only in terms of sport, but also in social, state and other terms, which is also reflected in the accomplishments of domestic sport airmen in the world.
- It is less known that Serbian airmen are the best in the world in many disciplines and games. When I tell that to some of my friends, officials, they ask me to give them arguments for that. The arguments are so clear, so we proudly point out that our paragliding pilots, parachutists, sailors, rocket and aircraft modellers, and so on, and all others are the best in the world. When we sum up how many clubs we have, and we have 60 clubs, how many competitors we have, how numerous we are as a nation, it proves that Serbs are intelligent, capable, strong, educated, professional and ready to be the best in everything – Bulatović said.
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, as one of the most important associates of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia in the field of aviation, helps every year in the realisation of aviation activities from the scope of work of the Ministry of Defence and the Aeronautical Union of Serbia. Particularly significant is the assistance provided by the Ministry of Defence when organising the National Parachuting Championship, the Balkan Friendship Jump, and to the athletes who are members of that Union.
