Meeting of Minister Vulin and Ambassador Chepurin
Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin met today in Belgrade with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, Aleksandar Chepurin.
Minister Vulin thanked the Russian Federation for supporting the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and efforts to find a compromise solution for Kosovo and Metohija. He especially thanked for the vociferous and consistent support for the positions of the Republic of Serbia in the UN Security Council when Serbia’s interests were jeopardized.
According to the Minister of Defense, the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is sensitive and hinders the further continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and playing with the so-called “Kosovo Army” is causing serious security problems for the entire region, in which Serbia’s behavior will be responsible.
The meeting emphasized that a special contribution to the relations of the two fraternal and friendly countries is given by excellent relations between the presidents and supreme commanders of the armed forces of the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation, Aleksandar Vučić and Vladimir Putin.
Minister Vulin and Ambassador Chepurin emphasized that the cooperation in the field of defense between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation is well developed and mirrors the overall relations, and that great progress has been made in military-technical cooperation.
Ambassador Chepurin expressed his satisfaction with the re-participation of Minister Vulin at the Moscow Security Conference and emphasized that Moscow attaches great importance to his visit and participation.
