Cooperation with the United Kingdom in the Field of Military Medicine
Head of Military Health Department, Brigadier General Uglješa Jovičić and Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Leković MD from the Clinic for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the Military Medical Academy visited the Training Centre of the United Kingdom in Newbridge in the Republic of Ireland, where they participated in a seminar on the topic of medical treatment in case of mass disasters.
The Armed Forces of the United Kingdom organise this three-day special training every year in order to present efficient principles of organisation of medical service aimed at improvement of providing emergency medical services. This time, the participants were familiarised with the latest achievements in the field of planning medical engagement in urban environment, epidemiological protection and other activities pertinent to such situations.
The goal of the training at international level is to raise the level of interoperability of personnel and medical teams for the purposes of more efficient actions in case of mass disasters.
