Seventh Session of the Serbia-Algeria Committee for Defence Cooperation
The seventh session of the Serbia-Algeria Committee for Defence Cooperation is being held in PDR Algeria, from 25th to 28th February.
The session is attended by a delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by Rector of the University of Defence, Assistant Professor Major General Goran Radovanović, co-chairman of the Serbian section of the Mixed Committee in charge of overseeing the cooperation in the field of defence.
General Radovanović thanked the Algerian side for the principled support regarding the non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo and the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.
During the plenary session, co-chaired by General Radovanović and the Director of the Central Quartermaster Directorate of the Ministry of National Defence of PDR Algeria, Aissa Khaled El-Bey, and during the meetings of the mixed subcommittees, concrete proposals and activities were defined as well as activities to be undertaken by both sides in order to further intensify cooperation in the field of defence.
At the meeting, the participants coordinated and signed the Plan for Bilateral Military Cooperation between the two defence ministries in 2019 and concluded the legal framework for future cooperation. The session and the signing ceremony were attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Algeria, H.E. Aleksandar Janković, members of the Serbian and Algerian parts of the Mixed Committee and representatives of the Yugoimport-SDPR company.
The seventh session of the Serbia-Algeria Committee was carried out on the basis of the Agreement on Defence Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of PDR Algeria and the Rules of Procedure of the Mixed Committee in charge of overseeing cooperation in the field of defence.
