Minister Vulin: Friendship of President Vučić and Sheikh Bin Zayed opened many doors of Abu Dhabi for us
“The respectful reception of Serbia in Abu Dhabi is the result of friendship between President Vučić and Sheikh Bin Zayed. It opened many doors of Abu Dhabi for us. Sheikh said that Serbia can always count on his support,” said Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, after a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, who, after the official opening of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference “IDEX 2019”, began the cycle of his official meetings by a meeting the Serbian delegation headed by the Minister of Defense.
“The whole world is at the defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi today. Representatives of all major powers, large companies, and all those who have anything to offer or buy when the land forces are in question are here at “IDEX 2019”. Therefore, we are honored that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has launched the official part of the meetings with the ministers with Serbia. Serbia is not the biggest country at the fair today, but has obviously deserved respect. The personal friendship that President Vučić established with Sheikh Bin Zayed shows that Serbia can rely on her friends and this has opened many doors to us here in Abu Dhabi. The respect that has been paid to Serbia here is the respect between two great world leaders who understand each other and whose countries can cooperate and are even now cooperating successfully,” said the Minister of Defense.
“Sheik Bin Zayed has sent a personal message to President Vučić, but he also pointed out that Serbia can always count on his support whenever and wherever it is needed. He is our friend and Abu Dhabi is an emirate that has the interests of Serbia in mind. He demonstrated once more that he is a truly great friend,” said Minister Vulin.
The IDEX 2019 International Defense Exhibition and Conference, held every two years under the auspices of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, was officially opened today. It is the only exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa region where state-of-the-art technologies designed for all aspects of the armed forces are represented. Due to its regional importance, IDEX attracts high-level state officials, representatives of the defense industry and armed forces who are potential buyers of these weapons and military equipment. About 1.300 exhibitors from more than 60 countries are participating in this year’s fair. As over the previous years, at this fair the Serbian defense industry and “Jugoimport SDPR” presented at an impressive stand the modern achievements in the field of armaments.
