Congratulatory message from the Minister of Defence on the Air Force and Air Defence Day
I congratulate all the members of the Air Force and Air Defence as they celebrate 24th December – the Day of the Service Branch.
Based on the Decision by the Serbian Ministry of War and the Main General Staff, Field Marshal Radomir Putnik made a decision, more than a century ago, to form the Air Force Headquarters based in Niš.
In the previous period, you have accomplished numerous tasks, achieved visible results in professional training and qualifying of air force and air defence personnel, and have greatly contributed to the development of operational and functional capabilities of your service branch.
The upcoming duties and planned tasks put before members of the Air Force and Air Defence new and complex requirements which, I am sure, you will be able to successfully accomplish, thanks to a high degree of professionalism.
Being convinced that the efforts invested in the modernisation of the Serbian military aviation, where you have the full support of the Ministry of Defence and the state, will pay off and contribute to a more successful and better performing of the tasks, I congratulate you on your holiday.
