New appointments in Serbian Armed Forces




Pursuant to Article 112, paragraph 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and Article 17, paragraph 9 of the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces, the President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, issued decrees for appointments to new duties.
 
Major General Ilija Todorov is appointed Deputy Commander of the Joint Operational Command of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed the National Defense School in 2002, and the Advanced Security and Defense Studies in 2018. He was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2008, and early promoted to the rank of Major General in 2018. He was Commander of 63rd Parachute Brigade during the NATO aggression against the FRY, Commander of the Special Brigade, and from 2013 Head of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department (J-2) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Major General Želimir Glišović was appointed Head of the Operations Department (J-3) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed the General Staff Course in 2005, and Advanced Security and Defense Studies in 2016. He was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2012 and to the rank of Major General in 2015. He was Commander of 3rd Brigade of the Land Forces, and from 2014 Deputy Commander of the Land Forces.
 
Brigadier General Željko Petrović was appointed Head of the Directorate for Training and Doctrine (J-7) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed the General Staff Course in 2007, and Advanced Security and Defense Studies in 2013. He was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2015. He has been Commander of 1st Army Brigade since 2014.
 
Colonel of the Air Defense Artillery-Rocket Units, Milan Popović was appointed Head of Planning and Development Department (J-5) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed the Command and Staff Course in Russia in 2010 and the Advanced Security and Defense Studies in 2013. He was promoted to the rank of Colonel in 2010. He has acted as Deputy Commander of 250th Air Defense Missile Brigade, and been Deputy Commander for Operations of the Air Force and Air Defense Command since 2015.
 
Brigadier General Vladeta Baltić was appointed Deputy Commander of the Land Forces.
 
He completed the General Staff Course in 2010 and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2018. He has been Chief of Staff of the Land Forces Command since 2017.
 
Colonel of the Armored Units, Željko Tramošljika, was appointed Chief of Staff of the Land Forces Command.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2007, and Advanced Security and Defense Studies in 2013. He was promoted to the rank of Colonel in 2009. Since 2013, he has been Assistant for Operations at the Joint Operational Command of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Colonel of the Armored Units, Zoran Nasković was appointed Commander of 1st Army Brigade.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2012 and was promoted to the rank of Colonel in 2013. He has been in the capacity of Deputy Commander for Operations of the Land Forces Command since 2017.
 
Infantry Colonel Miroljub Čupić was appointed Head of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department (J-2) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2008, and the National War College in Washington, USA, in 2013. He was promoted to the rank of Colonel in 2009. He has been in the capacity of Deputy Commander of the Special Brigade from 2015.
