General Mojsilović meets KFOR Commander

Lieutenant General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces has met today in Belgrade with KFOR Commander Major General Salvatore Cuoci. The first official meeting of the two generals, since General Mojsilović has been appointed as head of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff in September this year, was held at the Topčider barracks in Belgrade.

Generali Mojsilović and Cuoci discussed the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the realisation of joint activities of the Serbian Armed Foprces and KFOR.

Voicing concern over the recent events, General Mojsilović particularly pointed out that unilateral and non-transparent procedures complicate the situation on the ground, and that respecting all agreements in force and obligations arising from them is essential to the state of security in Kosovo and Metohija.

He pointed out that it is in the mutual interest of the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR to preserve security in the areas of responsibility astride the administrative line, and that KFOR as an international actor is the most responsible for the security of all citizens in this province, especially the non-Albanian population.

It is a high-level meeting of the Joint Commission for the Implementation of the Military Technical Agreement, comprised of the KFOR Command Commission and the Commission of Security Force Representatives of the Republic of Serbia. Meetings of the Joint Commission have been regularly held at different levels since 1999, for the purpose of implementation of the Military Technical Agreement.
