Minister Vulin: President Vučić has a good reason to be worried because of everything that is taking place in Kosovo and Metohija
Speaking about the information which appeared in media that the so called Armed Forces of Kosovo would be established on 28th November on the “Day of the Flag”, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin stated in the morning programme of the Pink Television that those were the threats to the security of the region.
- President Vučić has a good reason to be worried because of everything that is taking place in premises Kosovo and Metohija. Is there a need to establish any kind of armed force in territory of Kosovo and Metohija? Let us disregard the law, justice, to put all that aside and raise a concrete question as to what we need the armed forces for? Who are they going to fight against? Are they going to attack Montenegro? North of Macedonia? KFOR Forces? Albania? If you need it to fight against Serbia you may disband it immediately, since Serbia has no intention whatsoever to attack its southern province nor to participate in any wars and conflicts. It is obvious that the armed forces serve only for that and that is the only idea - Minister Vulin stated.
Commenting on recent statement of the Croatian president that “the Croats and Albanians are brothers in arms”, Minister Vulin added that the majority of generals of the so called Armed Forces of Kosovo had participated in the war in Croatia and fought against the Serbs.- I am always afraid when someone finds war, blood, the war and blood against the Serbs in particular, to be the only connection of friendship between two peoples. They could not find a poet, actor, writer or an architect. The only link that they could find is the participation in war in which they killed the Serbs - Vulin emphasised.
Minister Vulin stressed that Serbia needs to believe that NATO gave word that no one from the armed formations of the Kosovo Albanians would appear to the north of the river of Ibar without prior notification and approval of all four mayors of Serbian municipalities in the north.
- We have to trust them. Resolution 1244 has brought foreign troops in the area of Kosovo and Metohija and we were not happy about that at the time, nor will we ever be happy about it. Is that a fact, and does it have to be that way? Well, it does. KFOR is something that provides at least some security to the Serbs in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija. You know, when President Vučić was brutally stopped by KLA terrorists who gather around Banja, KFOR does not react and they say that their task is just to provide security. No, your task is to act pre-emptively and not to allow that anyone’s safety is jeopardised. On the other hand, KFOR does not act and it does not react when Hashim Tachi tries to cause an incident which would lead to a war. What would happen if some Serb fired at Tachi? A war would start. As you can see, Serbia and the Serbs do not desire that - Vulin sent the message.
The minister of defence underscored that President Vučić managed to obtain guarantees from then NATO Secretary-General that no member of armed formation of Kosovo Albanians would cross to the north of Kosovo and Metohija without the approval of NATO alliance and four mayors of Serbian municipalities.
- That is the word that we have been given, which we must hold on to and to constantly remind others of it. It was not easy to obtain those guarantees, since I was a witness when Vučić fought for those guarantees for them to even become the topic of the conversation. This is the first time that they have given any kind of guarantees to Serbia, since they perceived us as a defeated side which was to fulfil what had been written. I call upon NATO to remember what they told us, I ask that they honour the given word and wish to send a message that we will respect them just like they respect their word - Vulin said.
- Due to the attempts to establish the so called Armed Forces of Kosovo, the Albanians should be afraid the most. The Serbs will not serve in that paramilitary, Gorani will not go and die there. The Serbs did not join that formation, and even that small number of them who did apply, realised that they had been manipulated, that they were used as decoration to present that formation to foreigners. One should always have an example and demonstrate that everything is seemingly in the best order. But what about the fact that they have cleansed Priština from the Serbs, or that there are no Serbs in any of the larger towns in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija; that is not important. You should not be a part of some formation that will one day be used to shoot at your fellow-countrymen. For Priština, there are no other adversaries or enemies but Serbia and the Serbs. Of course that you should not be part of that formation. Serbia is loved even when it is difficult. Hold on, this truly is great pressure. Do not be a part of it - the minister of defence sent the word.
Speaking about security threats and challenges in Kosovo and Metohija, and about the position of the Serbs in the enclaves and in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Vulin underlined that all security threats were monitored closely, and that there was also the international community which was primarily responsible for everything that might happen and that was happening in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, and the minister added that they were also there if needed.
- The question is not what it is that they can do to the Serbian Armed Forces. The Serbian Armed Forces are much more powerful and much stronger, and they are ready to fight with far more superior ones, but the issue at hand is about something else. This is an attempt to establish a formation which on the one hand should prove the statehood, an on the other to cause conflicts which they will use to wine again and cry and say “we are the victims, come and rescue us”. The Albanians should watch out for that armed force, since they are to serve as cannon fodder in the conflicts of their leaders who thus want to avoid assuming their responsibility in front of the court for war crimes. All the countries which support the so called “State of Kosovo” should also watch out, because that is the manner in which, on day, they will involve their children as well in the conflicts - stressed Minister Aleksandar Vulin appearing in the morning programme at the Pink Television.
