Visit from a Delegation of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
A delegation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation led by Major General Igor Dilevsky Deputy Chief of Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation visited Strategic Planning Department of Defence Policy Sector. The delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces was headed by Colonel Dragan Tatomir, Head of Strategy Division of Strategic Planning Department.
During the working meeting the delegations reviewed the issues in the field of development of strategic documents of the Republic of Serbia in the context of current changes in strategic environment at global, regional and national level as determinants of the contents of the said documents, and the issues of current engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces in joint exercises with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the aspects of further cooperation.The Russian side presented the experiences of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from Syria, the evaluation of the military-political situation in Europe with the focus on the situation in Ukraine, the assessment of politico-security situation in Africa, Middle East and Central-Asian region.
Members of the delegation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation visited the Army Command in Niš, where they were received by Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, the Army Commander.
