Congratulatory message from Defence Minister on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Service Day
I congratulate all members of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Service as they celebrate 28th September - the Day of the Service.
On that day in 1932, following the Decree by the Minister of the Army and Navy of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the formation of the Powder Battalion within the framework of the “Obilićevo” Factory began. It was the first regular unit for counter chemical protection.
By constantly developing the system of specialist education and training, and permanent work on modernising your service, continuing more than eight decades long tradition, you are performing your tasks in a quality manner and contributing to the stability of the defence system.
Convinced that you will continue to be equally successful in responding to all the challenges and dangers of the modern era in order to protect, from nuclear and chemical accidents, all members of the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and citizens of Serbia, I congratulate you on your holiday.
