Minister Vulin: The EU to support brave efforts of President Vucic
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who has participated today in the joint meeting of defence ministers of the countries of the Western Balkans and Austrian Minister of Defence Mario Kunasek, held in Graz as part of the current Austrian Presidency of Council of the the EU, stressed that the EU should support the brave and wise efforts of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in finding a sustainable and lasting solution between the Serbs and Albanians.
“The dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which is very courageously and wisely held by President Aleksandar Vučić, must reach a solution that will be viable, durable and with which the Serbs and Albanians will be able to live. President Vučić does not get too much support from the EU for his efforts and great personal and political risks he takes”, he emphasized.
Minister Vulin stressed that the EU should know that if President Vučić’s efforts fail to yield, then this will be a problem that will remain as a heritage for future generations.
“The EU cannot hope for being safe and stable if the Balkans is not calm and stable. Without the agreement between the Serbs and Albanians, the Balkans will not be calm and stable, and then Europe should put on its thinking cap regarding its future. It is on them to chose”, he underlined.
Minister Vulin expressed his belief that, if they support President Vučić and understand the courage with which he holds dialogue, the courage that most of the world leaders lack, including the EU leaders, then they will understand that this is the way to finally reach a lasting and sustainable solution, peace for us and our children.
