After three decades more than a million euros invested in the Niš Military Hospital in 2018
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, accompanied by Brigadier General Uglješa Jovičić, Chief of the Military Health Department, has visited today the reconstructed Department of Radiology at the Niš Military Hospital.
Apart from the infrastructure works, with the aim of providing better quality of health care to military and civil insured persons, four digital X-ray machines of new generation which provide faster and more precise diagnostics have been purchased.
As Minister Vulin emphasized, the Ministry of Defence has invested more than a million euros in Niš Military Hospital over the past year.
- This has been the most serious investment and reconstruction of this facility in the past 30 years, during which we waited for the insured in the Niš Military Hospital to get the best and most up-to-date diagnostics and care. The military system, as well as the health system within the army, was destroyed in a planned and systematic manner. Everything that could have been done to humiliate, reduce, destroy the armed forces, not to be able to satisfy neither its defence needs nor the needs for protecting its insured, from 2000 onwards, was done. We are fighting against this and very soon, thanks, first and foremost, to the enormous understanding of the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić and the entire Government, we have the capability to restore the military healthcare service, the minister of defence said.
He added that the military insured persons must know that they will always have the best possible care.
- And anyone who joins the Serbian Armed Forces, who attach their lives to the defence of their country and their army, must know that they are in the system that we are creating again, in a system that will take care of them and their families from the beginning to the end. From having a good uniform and a good salary, having the most modern weapon systems on which they will train and defend this country, to having the best possible health care for them and their families. It is a system that was destroyed and collapsed, and which we are building again. The army takes care of its own personnel, just as it takes care of all the citizens of this country, but it takes care of every member of it, Minister Vulin said
Colonel Dr. Jovica Stanojković, Director of the Niš Military Hospital, thanked the Ministry of Defence and minister Vulin for the fulfilled promise to continue with the infrastructure building and technical equipping of the Niš Military Hospital.
- It has been planned to develop a preliminary design for the construction of an emergency reception block as well as its equipping. In the following period, the Niš Military Hospital will have the opportunity to provide a greater number of health services and to modernise its work, all that for mutual satisfaction of the military and civil insured persons who are treated here, Colonel Stanojković emphasised.
Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Milorad Pejčić, a radiologist, said that digitization in the Department of Radiology is of great importance.
- There are many benefits of digitisation – besides quality and comfort, more efficiency is achieved during the work as well as material savings, and certainly the patients and medical staff are very satisfied, Lieutenant Colonel Pejčić said.
These are state of the art digital radio-diagnostics devices of the latest generation, and conditions have been created for the introduction of new invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures from the field of radiological diagnostics.
