New Appointments in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces




 
Pursuant to Article 112(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and Article 17(9) of the Law on Serbian Armed Forces, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, issued decrees on the appointments to new duties, promotions into higher ranks and termination of professional military service.
 
Appointments to a new duty:
 
Lieutenant General Milan Mojsilović appointed as the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2006. In 2007, he was assigned the duty of Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, and in 2011 he was appointed as the Army Commander. In January 2013, he was assigned the duty of the Head of the Military Representative Office in the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to NATO. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2009. He was promoted to the rank of major general in 2011, and to the rank of lieutenant general in 2018.
 
He participated in war operations during the NATO Aggression against the FRY and in operations in the Ground Security Zone.
 
Major General Petar Cvetković appointed as Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2009, and he finished the Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2015. Since 2014, he discharged the duty of Director of the Military Security Agency of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.  He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2014, and to the rank of major general in 2018.
 
Major General Goran Radovanović appointed as the Dean of the University of Defence of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
 
He graduated from the National Defence School in 2001, and he was awarded the title of Doctor of military science in 2016. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2009, and to the rank of major general in 2012. He was posted as the Guard Commander, Deputy Commander of the Training Command, and in 2013, he was appointed as Director of Defence Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
 
Major General Mladen Vuruna appointed as the Head of Defence Technologies Department in the Sector for Material Resources in the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
 
He completed his doctoral studies in technical science in 2005. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2009, and to the rank of major general in 2012. He discharged the duty of the Head of Military Academy, and in 2014 he was nominated as the Dean of the University of Defence.
 
Major General Bojan Zrnić appointed as the Head of Military Academy of the University of Defence of the Ministry of Defence.
 
He completed his doctoral studies in electronics in 2001, and he finished the Royal College in 2007. He was exceptionally promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2011, and to the rank of major general in 2014. He discharged the duty of the Deputy Head of Department in the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, and in 2010 he was assigned the task of Head of Department for Defence Technologies in the Sector for Material Resources of the Ministry of Defence.
 
Major General Mile Jelić appointed as the Director of Defence Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defence.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2003. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2014. He discharged the duty of the Head of National Defence School, Brigade Commander and in 2017 he was assigned the task of Head of Personnel Department in the Sector for Human Resources of the Ministry of Defence. He was promoted to the rank of major general in 2018.
 
Colonel Đuro Jovanić appointed as the Director of Military Security Agency of the Ministry of Defence.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2015, and he finished the Advanced Security and Defence Studies in 2016. He was exceptionally promoted to the rank of colonel in 2016. He performed the duty of the Head of Division, and in 2015 he was appointed as the Head of Security Division in the Private Office of the Minister of Defence.
 
Brigadier General Zoran Stojković appointed as the Director of Military Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defence.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2010 when he was also exceptionally promoted to the rank of colonel. He was posted as Defence Attaché of the Republic of Serbia, and he was appointed as Deputy Director of Military Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defence. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2018.
 
Colonel Slađan Stamenković appointed as Commander of the Third Army Brigade.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2011. He was exceptionally promoted to the rank of colonel in 2012. He performed the duty of Assistant for Operations and Brigade Chief of Staff, and in 2017 he was appointed as Deputy Commander of the Third Army Brigade.
 
Colonel Ljubiša Đolović appointed as the Head of Telecommunications and IT Department (J-6) in the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2011 and in the same year he was exceptionally promoted to the rank of colonel. He was assigned the duty of the Head of Communications Centre in General Staff Department, and in 2014 he was appointed as Commander of Communications Brigade of Telecommunications and IT Department (J-6) in the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan appointed as Commander of the Army Special Brigade.
 
He completed his doctoral studies in military arts in 2008. He was exceptionally promoted to the rank of colonel in 2011. He discharged the duty of the Head of National Defence School, and in 2018 he was nominated as the Dean of Military Academy of the University of Defence. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2018.
 
Promotions:
 
Brigadier General Duško Žarković promoted to the rank of major general.
 
In 2018 appointed as the Commander of AF and AD. In January 2015, he was assigned the duty of Deputy Commander of AF and AD, and he was previously performing the duty of Commander of the 250th Rocked Brigade for AD, Chief of Staff in the AF and AD Command and Assistant Commander AF and AD for Operations. He completed General Staff Course in 2006. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2012.
 
Brigadier General Ilija Todorov exceptionally promoted to the rank of major general.
 
He completed the National Defence School in 2002. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 2008. He has been performing the duty of Head of Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department (J-2) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.  During the NATO Aggression against the FRY, he was Commander of the 63rd Parachute Brigade.
 
Colonel Uglješa Jovičić promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine from Novi Sad in 1984, and specialised General Practice Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade in 1996. In 2013, he received PhD in medical science at the Faculty of Medicine in Kragujevac. He has been Head of the Military Health Department since 2018.
 
Colonel Rajko Milovanović promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He completed the High Defence Studies in Italy in 2009. He was promoted to the rank of colonel in 2007. He has been performing the duty of Head of Military Police Department of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
Colonel Vladeta Baltić promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2010. He was promoted to the rank of colonel in 2002. He has been appointed as Chief of Staff in the Army Command.
 
Colonel Željko Kuzmanović promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He completed General Staff Course in 2013. He was promoted to the rank of colonel in 2007. He has been appointed as Commander of the Second Army Brigade.
 
Colonel Slobodan Stopa promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2009 when he was promoted to the rank of colonel. He has been appointed as Commander of the Fourth Army Brigade.
 
Colonel Željko Bilić promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2011 and he was promoted to the rank of colonel the same year. He has been appointed as Commander of the 204th Air Force Brigade of AF and AD.
 
Colonel Aleksandar Bijelić promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2009 and he was promoted to the rank of colonel the same year. He has been appointed as Chief of Staff of AF and AD.
 
Colonel Dragan Dinčić exceptionally promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
 
He graduated at the Faculty of Medicine of the University in Belgrade - Kragujevac Division, in 1989. He received the PhD in Medical Science in 2001, at the Military Medical Academy. By decision of Scientific and Teaching Board of the MMA and by decision of the University of Defence Senate, he was elected fellow at the Faculty of Medicine at the Military Medical Academy of the University of Defence. He has been assigned the task of Deputy Head of the Military Medical Academy since 2011.
 
 
Termination of professional military service.
 
General Ljubiša Diković, former Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, at personal request.
 
He completed the National Defence School in 2000. Until September 2018, he discharged the duty of Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Army Commander, Commander of the Training Command, then Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Deputy Head of Department for Operations in the General Staff, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Army of the Armed Forces of Serbia and Montenegro, and duties of Head of Division and Chief of Staff of the Užice Corps Command and numerous duties in brigade level units. He gained great experience during the combat actions in the area of former SFRY, during NATO Aggression against FRY and in the operations in the Ground Safety Zone.
 
He was promoted to the rank of major general in 2005, to the rank of lieutenant general in 2009, and to the highest rank in the Serbian Armed Forces - to the rank of general, in 2013.
 
General Diković has received numerous decorations including: Karađorđe Star Medal of the First Degree, Military memorial medal for the participation in joint tactical exercises, Medal of officers’ solidarity, Military memorial medal for the participation in combat actions in the territory of SFRY, Military memorial medal for the participation in combat actions in the teritorry of FRY, White eagle medal with swords of the first degree, Military memorial medal for extraordinary results in military service for officer - the first time, Medal for merit in the field of defence and security of the first degree, Medal for military merit.
 
Brigadier General Zoran Veličković, former Commander of the Army Special Brigade, at personal request.
 
He completed his General Staff Course in 2007. In 2011, he was appointed as the Commander of the Army Special Brigade. Previously discharged the duty of Deputy Commander of the Army Special Brigade. He has been in the rank of brigadier general since 2015.
 
Brigadier General Predrag Grbić, former Commander of the Third Army Brigade.
 
He discharged the duty of the Commander of the Third Army Brigade since 2017. He completed General Staff Course in 2010. He has been in the rank of brigadier general since 2018. He performed duties of Chief of Staff of the Guard and Deputy Commander of the Third Army Brigade.
