The youngest reserve officers promoted
The ceremony on the completion of education for the course of reserve officers of the March 2018 generation was held at the General Jovan Mišković barracks at Banjica, today.
Congratulating the youngest promoted reserve officers, Commandant of the Military Academy Colonel Prof. Miroslav Talijan said that the education of this class of reserve officers was carried out through a corpus of lectures, seminars, exercises and internships in units of the Serbian Armed Forces, where they adopted numerous professional and complementary officers’ and universal life skills.
He emphasized that as of today “our army is richer for a young generation – noble, educated, motivated and ready for great efforts and great temptations of reserve officers, both within the tasks of defence of the country and in their work responsibilities, and the numerous roles that they are to face during their life”.
- Dear youngest reserve officers, as of today you are entering the ranks of those who have acquired immense wealth reflected in honour of the Serbian officer, property that is difficult to gain, which must not be lost. In the years to come, I am confident that you will prove yourselves as the right ones, and that you deserved the rank of reserve second lieutenants of the Serbian Armed Forces – Colonel Talijan emphasized.
Addressing those gathered, on behalf of his class, the first ranked among the participants in the reserve officers' course, female reserve Second Lieutenant Gordana Petrović said:
- We all volunteered to serve the homeland and, at least for a moment, put ourselves in line with the giants of the Serbian history – with Lazar, Miloš, Stepa, Putnik, Mišić, with our ancestors from Cer, Kolubara, Kajmakčalan. I guarantee that we will follow the path of our ancestors, that our priority will always be honour, honesty, courage, and above all our fatherland.
The ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of Defence, Major-General Prof. Mladen Vuruna, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as relatives and friends of the reserve second lieutenants.
