Congratulatory message from Defence Minister on Military Museum Day
I extend to all members of the Military Museum congratulations as they celebrate 22nd August – the day of the establishment.
In the year when you celebrate the jubilee – 140 years since the foundation by the Decree of Prince Milan Obrenović, in 1878, the best evidence of your successful work and immeasurable merits in the field of museology and culture as a whole, is the recognition you received from the President of the Republic of Serbia – the Second-Degree Order of Sretenje (Candlemas).
Continuing more than a century long tradition, you have made a significant contribution to the protection and presentation of the cultural heritage of the Republic of Serbia. With your exhibitions on the occasion of state and military holidays and through good international cooperation in the field of culture and tradition. In the year of marking the end of the centenary of the First World War, you showed how the museum activity should be presented and how heritage of national spirit and traditions are preserved.
Convinced that in the period to come you will continue to be successful in executing the planned projects in the country and abroad, thus contributing to the prosperity of culture and tradition both in the Ministry of Defence and in our country, I congratulate you on your holiday.
