Meeting between Minister of Defence and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin met today with Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, in the Small War Room of the Old General Staff building, where they discussed enhancement of the previous cooperation.
During today's meeting, they emphasized the importance of concluding a defence cooperation agreement as a legal framework for the establishment and development of bilateral military cooperation between the two countries, and stated that the capacities for this are reflected in the field of military-economic, military-educational and military-medical cooperation.During the talks, Minister Vulin highlighted Serbia's principled position regarding Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence and stressed that Serbia remains firm in the view that it is necessary to strictly comply with the provisions of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and that KFOR is most responsible for maintaining peace and security in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija and the only partner of the Serbian Armed Forces in securing the administrative line.
The minister of defence also emphasized that the Republic of Serbia continues to maintain a balanced defence policy constantly working on enhancement and further qualitative development of the defence relations with all countries and international organizations, in accordance with the defined national interests.
