The Day of Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrology Observed
The Day of Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrologywas officially celebrated today in the Sector for Material Resources in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, companies of defence industry and representatives of the Standardisation Institute of Serbia and Directorate for Measures and Precious Metals of Serbia.
Congratulating the holiday, Director of the Directorate Colonel VeselinRaičević reminded of the most significant activities that had marked the previous year. He also spoke about the plans for the enhancement of the work of the Directorate in the future.
The Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrology, celebrates its holiday in memory of 5th July 1863 when the Artillery Department of the Military Ministry of the Principality of Serbia passed the first decree on the organisation of the area of standardisation, or the organisation of a catalogue of standards –“Administration of all technical records produced by technical bodies”. This act was passed pursuant to the Law of Prince Miloš Obrenović from 1859.
The Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrology of Defence Technologies Department is the highest expert body in the field of material standardisation. This Directorate carries out the work of the National Codification Bureau of the Republic of Serbia and it is the central and the highest expert body in the field of metrological activity in the area of defence.
