Participation at the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference in Vienna

Delegation of the Republic of Serbia, led by Milan Mojsilović, Assistant Minister for Defence Policy and Ambassador Branimir Filipović, Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security Policy, participated at the Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC), held in Vienna, from 26th to 28th June 2018.

During the three-day work, participants discussed issues of European security and exchanged views on key security challenges faced by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Special sessions were devoted to stability, confidence- and security-building measures in the OSCE region, the Structured Dialogue, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation, as well as arms control and challenges arising from migration and transnational threats.

In his address, Milan Mojsilović, Assistant Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, pointed out that the Republic of Serbia, since 2001 and the renewal of its participation in the OSCE, has openly, sincerely and actively contributed to all areas of arms control according to the Vienna Document, regularly delivering all the required reports and bilaterally cooperating with other countries on this issue. Mojsilović reminded that, as a guarantor of observing the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Serbia is an active and committed party in the Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control.

The Annual Security Review Conference (ASRC) provides a framework for enhancing security dialogue, which includes the implementation of the OSCE strategy. In accordance with the decision of the Ministerial Council, the conference is held every year and represents the most significant gathering within the OSCE's politico-military dimension.
