Minister Vulin: We are grateful to Liberia for the principled position on Kosovo
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has met today with Liberian Foreign Minister Gbehzohngar Milton Findley and Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Len Eugene Nagbe.
Minister Vulin particularly emphasised the importance of the decision of the Government of the Republic of Liberia to revoke the recognition of the so-called Kosovo as an independent state and thanked on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and himself personally.
- The decision of the Government of Liberia shows that the principled, consistent and law-based policy of the Republic of Serbia has yielded results, Minister Vulin said, adding that the withdrawal of the recognition of the so-called Kosovo comes at a moment important for the overall process of dialogue with Pristina.
“It is important for us that others recognise the correctness of our country's positions, which is the determination to resolve open issues through negotiations, the unconditional observance of the Brussels agreement and the commitment to forming the Community of Serb municipalities”, Minister Vulin said.
The interlocutors agreed that, with regard to issues of national interest, both countries will open up opportunities for establishing comprehensive cooperation, including defence, and that Serbia and Liberia have traditionally good relations ever since the Non-Aligned Movement and that the current promotion of relations does not represent the beginning but the continuation of this cooperation.
