Fourth session of the Joint Serbian-Angolan Committee
The delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by State Secretary Aleksandar Živković, co-chairman of the Serbian section of the Joint Serbian-Angolan Committee for Defence Cooperation, is on an official visit to the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Angola from 11th to 13th June 2018.
State Secretary Živković has met today with Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Angola, General Salviano de Jesus Sequeira Kianda and Secretary of State for Defence Infrastructures and Industries, Lieutenant General Afonso Carlos Neto. On that occasion, he introduced the interlocutors to Serbia's foreign policy goals, defence policy and policy of military neutrality.
At the fourth session of the Joint Serbian-Angolan Committee for Defence Cooperation, State Secretary Živković emphasized that Serbia appreciates the principled support of Angola in defending the principles of international law and expressed gratitude for their firm position and support in preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, saying that Angola is a strategic partner of Serbia in central and southern Africa.
During the plenary session and the meetings of the mixed subcommittees for military-to-military, military-economic, military-medical and military-educational cooperation, concrete proposals and activities have been defined by both sides in order to further enhance cooperation in the field of defence.
By the end of the visit, meeting of State Secretary Aleksandar Živković with Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Angola, General of the Army António Egídio de Sousa Santos, and the signing of the Minutes from the session are scheduled.
