Signing Programme for Bilateral Military Cooperation with China
During today's meeting, Colonel Milan Ranković, Head of the Department for International Military Cooperation of the Defence Policy Sector of the Ministry of Defence and Senior Colonel Ma Yongbao, Military Attaché of the People's Republic of China in our country, signed the 2018 Programme for Bilateral Military Cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of National Defence of the People's Republic of China.
During the meeting, they discussed further enhancement of defence cooperation between the two countries. The traditionally good general and political relations between our peoples and states have also been emphasized, as evidenced by the reply of Xi Jinping, president of the PR China to the letter of Aleksandar Vučić, president of the Republic of Serbia, in which it was emphasised that there is a mutual interest in enhancing cooperation in the field of defence, especially in the military industry.
In addition to improving military technical and military economic cooperation, during the talks, it was also concluded that there is a possibility to develop cooperation in other areas, such as military-to-military, military medical and military educational cooperation, as well as other acceptable forms of cooperation.
It has also been noted that two defence ministers are expected to meet in the upcoming period, which will significantly contribute to strengthening defence cooperation between Serbia and China.
Both sides agreed that there is a possibility for defence cooperation to be raised to an even higher level by planning and implementing activities of international military cooperation of common interest.
