Concert of young cello player Petar Pejčić and Binički Ensemble
The Stanislav Binički Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence held a concert with a young, talented cellist Petar Pejčić in the Great Hall of the Kolarac Endowment last night. The concert “The Young Win the World” was conducted by Rade Pejčić, Petar's father.
Before the audience in the Great Hall of Kolarac Endowment, they performed Gustav Mahler's Adagietto from his 5th Symphony, Dmitri Shostakovich - Cello Concerto n.1 op.107 and Petar Konjović's Koštana Symphonic Triptych for big orchestra. Performances by a gifted sixteen-year-old cellist, accompanied by the Binički Ensemble, were greeted with thunderous applause.
Petar Pejčić expressed his talent in the fourth year of his life when he began playing violoncello and held his first solo concert when he was only nine years old. Since 2008, he won the first prizes and was a laureate at competitions in the country and abroad. He is a regular participant at masterclass student solo and chamber music course at Neuhardenberg Castle in Germany, and in 2015 and 2016 he was the youngest participant in the prestigious Moritzburg Chamber Music Festival. In 2016, he also played before prominent soloists and members of the New York Philharmonic in the United States, who rated him as one of the most promising young cellists of his generation. Since 2017, Petar Pejčić is a fellow of the Dr. Hübner–Stiftung foundation from Germany.
