Visit from a Delegation of the Ministry of Defence of India
Today, a meeting was held in the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia between Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Milan Mojsilović and the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of India led by Additional Secretary Shri Barun Mitra. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of India in Serbia, Her Excellency Narinder Chauhan.
The talks were held in a friendly atmosphere so, apart from the enhancement of defence cooperation, they spoke about traditionally good overall and political relations that are supported by the fact that, as Mojsilović underlined, this year we mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two states.
Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy pointed out that the Republic of Serbia pursued independent and autonomous foreign policy and that it was fully dedicated to military neutrality. Also, he stressed that the support that India had been providing to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia was of extreme importance, as well as its support to our efforts to resolve all the open issues in Kosovo and Metohija in a peaceful manner through dialogue.
Both sides concluded that there existed opportunities to raise the defence cooperation to an even higher level, chiefly by planning and conducting the activities of international military cooperation of mutual interest.
