Multimedia Guide through the Military Museum setting presented

On the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day and 140 years of the existence of the Military Museum in that institution, a multimedia guide through a permanent museum setting intended for mobile phone and tablet users has ben presented today.

Multimedia contents will now be free for viewing on mobile devices with Android and IOS operating systems after downloading from mobile platforms.

Presenting a kind of audio-video guide, Goran Gajić, a representative of the company Quantum Team, that donated and designed the application, said that it was a platform through which his company networked cultural institutions in the region.

- With this project, the Military Museum got its place on the map of the cultural heritage of the region of Southeast Europe, of which we are very proud, he said, adding that he hoped that the project will be further developed and that the current solution is very modern but at the same time easy to handle.

- The LCD monitor provides instructions on how to use it, the system is very advanced and easily downloaded and used, which is very important because, as he pointed out, the Military Museum plays a very important role, encompassing a part of the history of the Serbian people seen through the struggle for independence and has a very valuable collection that needs to be brought closer to the visitors.

Lieutenant Colonel Miodrag Sekulić, in charge of IT and technical support at the Military Museum, points out that the guide is now available in Serbian, English and German, but that it will soon be available in French, and that its translation into Italian, Russian and Korean languages is in progress and everything should be completed until the Military Museum Day, on 22nd August.

- Our 53 halls are divided into 20 units that the application recognizes with the help of special technology and you will always get the right information about the exhibit or the whole in the vicinity of which you are. Moving on the path of a permanent setting, which is longer than 800 meters, will now be much more attractive and meaningful, as when you find yourself near a certain exhibit, the device will signal that there is content that is related to it, Lieutenant Colonel Sekulić explained, adding that audio sequences are followed also by a narrative that can be viewed on the device.

After today's promotion, a free tour of the permanent museum setting as well as the exhibition “Serbian-Turkish Wars 1876-1878 and winning independence for the Principality of Serbia” were organised at the gallery of the Military Museum.
