Free Medical Examinations on the Day of the Serbian Armed Forces
To mark 23rd April – Day of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Military Medical Academy has organised today 22 types of different free specialist examinations that were conducted in wards for abdominal, vascular, orthopaedic, plastic, thoracic medicine and the examinations by cardio surgeons, maxillofacial and neurosurgeons, urologist, ophthalmologist, otorhinolaryngologist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, haematologist, pulmonologist, rheumatologist, nephrologist, dermatologist, neurologist, psychiatrist, paediatric and nutritionist.
The announced examinations were scheduled by telephone calls, and the interest of citizens was so great that the majority of examinations were scheduled in the first hours after the planning of the dates.
- The Military Medical Academy regularly organises open medical examinations for the citizens, when I say open, I mean this type of examinations where patients may come independently of health insurance, meaning that the citizens without a medical card can be examined as well. In this year alone, we have organised the specialist examinations on the occasion of the MMA and during the Festival of Health held in the Central Military Club, and preventive examinations for early detection of cervical and breast cancer are still being conducted. Today, we wish to contribute to marking the Day of the Serbian Armed Forces in the best way we know at the MMA, treating people – said Acting Head of the MMA, Colonel Miroslav Vukosavljević PhD.
This time as well, the citizens gladly expressed their impressions.
- Such kind of examinations means a lot to me since I have been planning for a long time to schedule a visit to a doctor, but I have been postponing it partly for fear and partly for being lazy. I was lucky to have scheduled examination at endocrinologist at the MMA. It was not easy to get through. I understand that there were many phone calls, but I am happy for having succeeded. I only wish that the results are good, but I am not worried, since I know that I will be treated here – says G.J. (48) from Belgrade.
A fellow citizen А. H. (49) from Zemun says that he had not examined his moles for years.
- My wife saw announcement in newspaper for the examinations at the MMA, she called and made the appointment. My duty was just to come. I have not waited at all, the doctor was very kind, I am more than pleased.
Within this time for making appointments, some 300 patients were scheduled and it is expected that the total number of examinations is going to be even higher.
