This date is of great importance in the preservation of the national identity and continuity of the statehood of the Serbian people for a long period of more than two centuries. It was chosen to be celebrated as the greatest military holiday in memory of the Takovo uprising.
By professional execution of the assigned tasks, the Serbian Armed Forces has achieved notable results in building, development, training and professional development of our units, respecting the traditional values while implementing the new ones.
Congratulating you on the holiday and convinced that you will continue to carry out your tasks and fulfill the obligations that are ahead of you, I sincerely wish you to continue to remain an active security factor in the country and the region, which will lead the Republic of Serbia towards prosperity and a better future.

I extend my sincere greetings to the members of the Serbian Armed Forces as they celebrate the 23rd April – the Serbian Armed Forces Day.
The Serbian Armed Forces celebrates its holiday on the day of the Second Serbian Uprising in 1815, and at the same time the day of launching a series of significant activities for the creation of the Serbian statehood in which the Serbian army had an irreplaceable and decisive role.
In the past period, you have successfully maintained the required level of operational capabilities and managed to maintain morale at a very high level.
The Serbian Armed Forces today represents a factor of stability in the region, contributes to the development of cooperation and building partnership relations with foreign armies. Thanks to participation in multinational operations and readiness to support civilian population in emergency situations, the Serbian Armed Forces enjoys great reputation in the country and the world.
I am sure that you will be ready to perform the tasks assigned to you under restrictive conditions in a quality and responsible manner, giving full contribution to the construction of the modern Armed Forces, which will be an institution of great confidence of the citisens of Serbia, as before.
