Greetings of the Minister of Defence for Easter Holidays
I extend cordial greetings to all the members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces who celebrate Easter holidays according to the Julian calendar.
The freedom-loving tradition of our people is founded on the truth of Christ’s resurrection, on belief that the passion and resurrection are tightly connected. For centuries, our ancestors lived and died under the banner saying “For the honourable Cross and golden freedom”.
This is a year of a great jubilee when we celebrate one hundred years of the breach of the Thessaloniki Front and one hundred years of the resurrection of the Serbian state that the mighty ones of that time desired to wipe out from the map of modern Europe.
I wish that you, grateful and proud of your ancestors, with your eyes directed to the future, celebrate the greatest Christian holiday rejoicing and merry together with your families.
