New Issue of “ODBRANA”
On 24th March, in Aleksinac, a town that had suffered a great devastation, lighting was turned off and air raid sirens sounded by which the state ceremony symbolically begun to mark the Remembrance Day of the Victims of NATO Aggression in 1999 – “We will forgive if we can, but we will forget only if we do not exist”.
- It has been 19 years since the injustice was inflicted to our people, which, throughout the history, went through many adversities and suffering, but it did not imagine that such fate could befall it at the end of the 20th century. As they used to say and as they say today, the nineteen greatest and strongest struck a small country of a proud and unconquered people. That act of heartlessness and recklessness was named “Merciful Angel”, as if killing of the innocent, tearing down factories and hospitals can be subsumed under anything human, let alone merciful – said on that occasion President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.
He also state that the fact that “they killed us was not a mistake, or collateral damage, but an intention, devised with an aim, and each of the 78 days and every bomb were planned to be thrown on Serbia”. According to him, they called the crimes collateral damage so that they could justify them.On 29th March, at a tactical exercise “Coaction 2018”, the President once again reminded that the strong armed forces are a guarantee of security. – We are a small country which is not aligned in military blocks that wishes to preserve its freedom, its sovereignty. In order to be able to do that, we have to have capable armed forces, and that is why we will invest in such armed forces. He underlines that the state leadership will do all in their power “not to let the arms talk”, but that “we always have to be ready to protect our fatherland”.
