Reception of the newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt




 
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Aleksandar Živković, received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Republic of Serbia Amr Aljowaily.
 
Military-economic, military-to-military and military cooperation are the main areas of cooperation between Serbia and Egypt, State Secretary Živković said, stressing that both sides are interested in strengthening friendly relations and expanding cooperation.
 
The interlocutors noted that cooperation should be expanded primarily in areas of military medical and scientific and technical exchange of experience, as well as through the participation of two armies in peacekeeping operations, joint training and exercises, and the cooperation of intelligence and security services in the fight against terrorism.
 
It is planned that the next 12th Session of the Mixed Military Committee for Defence Cooperation will be held in Belgrade at the end of this year.
 
This year marks the 110th anniversary of the exchange of letters of credit and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Serbia.
