Military athletes the most successful at the 25th Novi Sad half-marathon
Members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces participated in the 25th Novi Sad half-marathon, in competition with more than 1000 competitors from 24 countries, and achieved great success.
The 21.1 kilometers long trace of the half-marathon race in individual men's and women's competitions stretched from the Novi Sad Square of Liberty, on the boulevards along the Danube and on Novi Sad streets and boulevards. With the support of the spectators, the first who passed through the goal, in the men's competition, in this most demanding discipline, with time 1:14:50, was Private First Class Miroslav Marković from the Training Command. In the women's competition, he was followed by civilian Ksenija Bubnjević, a member of the Military Academy team, who also won the first place.
In addition to the half marathon, competitors run the relay marathon of the same length, with 3 to 6 legs. In this discipline, the Serbian Armed Forces marathon runners were unbeatable, winning the places from 1 to 3. Those who climbed to the winner's podium stand were members of the Training Command (1:17:11) and members of the Special Brigade (1:20:21) took the second place, while the bronze medals were won by AF&AD marathon runners (1:23:59).
It was obvious that there was no end to the success of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, when its members passed through the goal of the 10,548 kilometers long quarter marathon route. In the men's competition, the best result (33:06) was achieved by Private First Class Đuro Bordelj from the composition of the First Brigade, followed by those of Lieutenant Colonel Nenad Mirosavljević from the General Staff and Sergeant Bojan Dragojlović from the Signal Brigade.
In the women's competition of this marathon race, Natasa Ćulafić from the composition of the Guard was the best with a score of 37:56 and she climbed to the winner's stand. Brigadier General Željko Petrović, Commander of the First Army Brigade, ran the quarter marathon race along with his marathon runners.
This year's 25th Novi Sad half-marathon included 97 contestants from the Serbian Armed Forces and the Military Academy.
