New Issue of “ODBRANA”
Our surrounding has again entered the phase of a reduced stability, so we are carefully monitoring all going-on in the region. The greatest threat to security of Serbia continues to be the situation in our southern province, having in mind the pronounced ethnical mobilisation of Albanians against the Serbs living in that area. Additional concern is raised by the fact that a significant number of fighters have left from the very Kosovo and Metohija to the war theatres in Syria and Iraq, as well as by their activities upon their return to the Province. Strengthening of nationalist rhetoric directed against Serbian people, which causes frictions within the relations in the internal scenes of the neighbouring countries, has adverse effects on mutual confidence – say Colonel Zoran Stojković Deputy Director of the Military Intelligence Agency in the interview for “Odbrana”.
A month has passed since the fire that broke out on the MMA on 25th January. An elaborate has been developed for the renovation of the part that was caught by the fire and all further steps will be carried out by the Infrastructure Department of Sector for Material Resources of the Ministry of Defence. So far, the most essential has been refurbished. The damage is not a minor one, but it would have been much greater if the entire staff of the MMA had not reacted in a timely and adequate manner. The most importantly, there were no human losses or any consequences to the health of the MMA patients. The topic of our issue brings a detailed report on this event.
