New Parking and Helipad on the Kopaonik
Today, the Ministry of Defence and Public Company “Skijališta Srbije” have entered into contract on financing construction of multiple floor garage and helipad on the Kopaonik Mountain. On behalf of the Ministry of Defence, as the Investor, the contract was signed by Director of Military Construction Centre Lieutenant Colonel Predrag Lukić, and on behalf of the Public Company “Skijališta Srbije”, as the Co-Financer, the contract was signed by Director Dejan Ćika.
The project is to be implemented pursuant to the Conclusion of the Government with the idea to build, within military complex “51st Skiing track on the Kopaonik”, a multiple floor garage with the minimum of 300 vehicles and a helipad with accompanying facilities for helicopter MI-17, external infrastructure and access road to the facility, for the needs of the Ministry of Defence and the Public Company “Skijališta Srbije”.
State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Živković said that it had been the first project implemented in collaboration with a legal entity out of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, which is in its capacity as the financier of the construction of the facility of mutual interest.
- The construction of the said facilities is going to resolve a long lasting problem of parking the motor vehicles, and we will create conditions for infrastructural strengthening of the search and rescue system in the Serbian Armed Forces, and in civilian air force of Serbia, and we will also strengthen the functions of aviation and logistic support to our forces – Živković underlined.
Director of the PC “Skijališta Srbije” Dejan Ćika said that he expected the construction works to be completed by the beginning of the next ski season.
- These facilities will, among other, enhance the health protection of the users of the ski tracks as well as providing emergency medical assistance to the injured and their transport to adequate medical establishments in the Republic of Serbia – Ćika added.
The financial resources required for the realisation of the task were allocated by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and the Public Company “Skijališta Srbije” from their own revenues and the estimated financial resources amount to 614,209,406.00 RSD without VAT.
On the basis of the said contract, among other, the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces will be provided with annual ski passes without reimbursement for the needs of training.
The signing ceremony was attended by State Secretary Bojan Jocić and Head of Infrastructure Department of the SMR Lieutenant Colonel Slobodan Starčević.
