Minister Vulin: We Are Continuing the Modernisation
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today the company “FAP Corporation” s.c. in Priboj. On that occasion, new vehicles produced for the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces were taken over.
According to the Minister of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces were intensively continuing the process of modernisation, replacement of everything that fell into decay, and there was still the need and struggle to catch up with new developments both in terms of materiel and non-combat assets.
- FAP is of great interest for the Serbian Armed Forces and of great importance for the entire country, and this area, for the armed forces as well, and we are ready to work with FAP. We are satisfied with the quality, deadlines and vehicles that we have received and that is why we have come here today for 10 more lorries. We wish FAP to finalise its gamma, to have 4х4, and 6х6 and 8х8, and to have everything that our armed forces need, to procure it by our own resources, from our national intelligence, national knowledge and workers – Minister Vulin said.
He pointed out that, in this year, at least 266 million RSD were earmarked for the purchase of the FAP products.
- We hope that it can be even more, which, of course, depends on the timelines and work, but it is absolutely certain that the Serbian Armed Forces are being intensively equipped and that in that work, FAP is going to be our ally, and it will be a part of what we as Serbian defence industry are preparing, that will guarantee work for these people, to all these hard workers. The FAP is going to be an important and reliable partner to the Serbian Armed Forces which will always supply us with precisely what we need in the shortest time. Every investment in the Serbian Armed Forces is an investment in the quality of life of the local community and the quality of life of all the people living in Serbia. Every investment in the Serbian Armed Forces is and investment in technological progress of civilian structures, because when you invest in the armed forces, when you build strong armed forces, you have made a technologically developed country, but you are also making a politically stable country that will be economically stable as well. The investment in the strong armed forces is an investment in a strong state of Serbia – Minister of Defence concluded.
Head of Logistics Department of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Željko Ninković pointed out that the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces were creating financial conditions, while FAP was creating products and technological conditions so that such deliveries could happen more frequently in the future, both of the lorries of that type, and other terrain vehicles from the FAP production programme.
The FAP CEO Ranko Vuković stressed that Minister Vulin was pleased with the tour and the work of that factory.
- The purpose of every factory was to have a pleased user. At this moment it is the Serbian Armed Forces. We are thankful for the support rendered to FAP, because without it, we would certainly not have been able to produce the lorries, and God knows where the FAP would have been today. In the end of the last year we signed another contract with the Serbian Armed Forces which is significant for both sides. It is for the zero series 20-22-29 in the value of 109 million RSD, and I expect that we will in this year receive something else in terms of development – Vuković stated.
