Decision to Deny Diković US Visa Is Bad for Military to Military Relations
Asked to comment on General Diković not being granted US visa, Minister Vulin underlined that General Diković was a courageous and honourable officer who makes this armed forces truly proud.
- There is nothing in the biography of General Diković, and nothing in his war path, and nothing in his life that could be a reason for him not to be granted visa to travel to the United States. We have not received any official explanation why this is the case, and we have asked for it, an we are asking still for the explanation and we will ask for it again, and it is with great anticipation that I am waiting for someone to tell me how this is possible and why General Diković was denied visa for the travel that American hosts requested, which was not requested either by him or by the Serbian Armed Forces. We are proud of our General and we cannot understand such relation and I have to say that such decision has adversely affected our military-to-military relations, and that such decision does not contribute to our cooperation, and that such decision leaves a bad mark. We hope that the United States will reconsider their decision, not because General Diković wants or does not want to travel, but because that represents a relation towards the first man of our armed forces and because that represents the relation to our armed forces as a whole. Until this issue is resolved, I am afraid that this decision will continue causing bad and negative effects – Minister Vulin concluded.
