Visit of representatives of the Italian Military Centre for Strategic Studies
High-level delegation of the Military Centre for Strategic Studies of the Italian Ministry of Defence, led by the Director Rear Admiral Mario Caruso, is on an official visit to the institutions of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
On behalf of the Minister of Defence, the delegation was received and greeted by State Secretary Aleksandar Živković. At the meeting, the participants expressed mutual satisfaction with the attained level of cooperation in the scientific field with pronounced prospects for its improvement.
During this day, the delegation from Italy visited the Strategic Research Institute of the Ministry of Defence and the University of Defence.Director of the Strategic Research Institute Jovanka Šaranović and director of the Military Centre for Strategic Studies of the Italian Ministry of Defence, Rear Admiral Mario Caruso, have signed today the Agreement on Mutual Cooperation and discussed the improvement of cooperation between the Serbian and Italian military institutes in the field of scientific work through defining concrete scientific and research activities that the institutes would jointly implement in the period to come.
The visit to the Strategic Research Institute is a return visit since a delegation from the Institute for Strategic Research visited Rome in September last year.Later today, the Italian delegation visited the Rectorate of the University of Defence , where the Rector Major General Mladen Vuruna presented the activities of the University of Defence.
Rear Admiral Caruso thanked for the opportunity to learn more about the activities of the institutions in the Serbian Ministry of Defence and expressed the hope that the signing of today's Agreement will be only a basis for the future forms of cooperation between these institutions.
