General Diković completes a tour of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent in Lebanon
Continuing the visit to our contingent engaged within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Ljubiša Diković, has met today in the Unifil Mission Command with Head of Mission and Force Commander Major-General Michael Beary.
The two generals discussed the current political and security situation in Lebanon and the Middle East, assessed the development of the situation in the mission in the forthcoming period, and discussed the concept of engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent in the mission.
General Diković also visited the West Sector Headquarters where he talked with the Sector Commander, Brigadier General Rodolfo Sganga about the situation in this sector and the engagement of members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, with the delegation, then visited members of the force protection platoons that perform tasks within the Italian contingent in the West Sectort, whom he gave credit for the professional performance of the tasks and expressed satisfaction with the impression conveyed to him by the superiors in the Mission HQ and Sector headquarters about the extremely professional execution of the tasks and qualification of our soldiers who are engaged in the Unifil mission.
In the final part of the visit, the delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces was visited by the Orthodox monastery of Saint Mamant in Der Mimes.
