Joint exercise of military doctors of Serbia and Ohio in Angola
Twelve members of the Serbian Armed Forces and 35 members of the Ohio National Guard are conducting a combined medical engagement in the Republic of Angola, together with members of the army of that country, in the period from 4th to15th December.
On the occasion of the joint exercise, Major General Mark Bartman, Ohio Adjutant General, said that "the Ohio National Guard’s ability to participate in this trilateral agreement is a result of our successful 11-year partnership with Serbia."
The medical exercise called Pambala 2017, consists of two phases. During the first phase, educational training was provided in topics related to risk mitigation and prevention of contagious and tropical diseases and f hemorrhagic fever. The second phase was continued on 9th December in the Bengo Province, with examination of the population of Valparaiso and Ceramico.
Clinical operations mission at a field hospital is run by military medical providers from Angola, Serbia and Ohio and it is focused on providing medical care in the field of preventative medicine, pediatrics, family practice, dermatology, optometry, dentistry, obstetrics and gynecologyy.
The Distinguished Visitors’ Day will be in Pambala on 14th December, after which the participants will return to Luanda and then to Belgrade, where a gala dinner will be organized for the participants in the exercise from the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard.
The Ohio National Guard has successfully partnered with Serbian Armed Forces since 2006 through the State Partnership Programme, which the United States has developed with more than 70 countries around the world
