Defence Minister meets with UAE Ambassador
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin met today with Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Serbia, Juma Rashed Al Dhaheri, on the occasion of the end of his mandate in the Republic of Serbia.
Minister Vulin thanked Ambassador Al Dhaheri for his great contribution to the rapprochement of the two countries, and the mutual view was that the previous period was marked by a more dynamic and more substantial bilateral cooperation in the field of defence, as evidenced by an increasing number of mutual high level visits, as well as realisation of different types and levels of training, and what was highlighted as particularly successful was testing of the Nora B-52 155 mm self-propelled howitzer in desert conditions, which Minister Vulin attended during his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates.
- As Minister Vulin said, the last visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić to the United Arab Emirates, and his extremely friendly relationship with the Crown Prince Sheikh General Muhammad bin Zayed al-Nahjan, gave a special touch to the overall cooperation, and therefore to the cooperation in the field of defence.
The Minister of Defence confirmed the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to the development and continuous strengthening of friendly and strategic relations with the United Arab Emirates, stressing that Serbia remains a reliable and honest friend of the United Arab Emirates and expressed the desire for defence cooperation to reach the level of the overall political relations between the two countries, Ambassador Al Dhaheri to convey to the new ambassador of UAE in Belgrade the readiness and determination of the Ministry of Defence for further strengthening of cooperation.
