Competitions of the Media Centre “Odbrana” for the Journalist Reward and Selection of the Athlete of the Year
Media Centre “Odbrana” has opened competitions for the journalist reward “Ivan Marković” for the best media reporting on the activities of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces in 2017, and for the selection of the best athlete and sports team of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2017.
The goal of the reward “Ivan Marković” is to encourage high quality reporting of the journalists who cover the activities of the Ministry of Defence and Serbia Armed Forces in national printed and electronic media, as well as the affirmation and public verification of their work, and to cherish the memory of Ivan Marković, one of the most talented military reporters and editors of the magazine “Vojska” who suddenly passed away in 2003 at the age of 43.
All professional news reporters who work for the media in the territory of the Republic of Serbia are entitled to participate in the competition regardless of their formal status.
The reward in the form of a plaque will be presented at the celebration on the occasion of the Day of the Media Centre “Odbrana” – on 24th January.
The right to compete for the title “the Athlete of the Year” and “the Sports Team of the Year” is given to the officers, non-commissioned officers, civilians employed in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, cadets of the Military Academy, pupils of the Military Grammar School, professional soldiers and soldiers in voluntary military service. The same principles apply for the teams as well, whose members should belong to one of the said categories.
The proposals are to be sent by commands, units, establishments, military schools and other educational institutions, sports alliances, clubs, sections and individuals by 31st December 2017.
