Anniversary of the Battle of Kadinjača marked
Serving requiem service and laying wreaths at the memorial complex Kadinjača, today, the central state ceremony marked the 76th anniversary of the battle in which all members of Radnički Battalion were killed on 29th November 1941, defending the Užice Republic.
Requiem service for the killed soldiers was served by the priests of the Užice church, and the delegations of the Government, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the SUBNOR, the city of Užice and the descendants of those killed paid tribute to the heroes by laying wreaths.
The speaker on behalf of the Serbian Government was State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Negovan Stanković, who pointed out that Serbia is proud of its anti-fascist past and that there is no other way than the antifascist one.
"We have suffered a great sacrifice on order for Fascism to be defeated, and the saddest thing is that many victims were the cause of mutual divisions and conflicts. To prevent this from happening again, we must draw lessons from the past and stop dividing and destroying each other", Stanković said.
