General Diković speaks with the Chief of the General Staff of the of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
Today, at "Banjica 2" barracks in Belgrade, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković had talks with the Chief of the Directorate of Engineering of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yuri Mikhaylovich Stavicky, who is on a three-day visit to the Serbian Armed Forces.
Generals Diković and Stavicky discussed bilateral military cooperation between the two countries and jointly noted that cooperation is developing in all areas of common interest. In particular, the meeting was about cooperation in the field of engineering through education, joint training, exercises and competitions, as well as exchange of instructors and lecturers.
During the visit to the Serbian Armed Forces, General Stavicky, together with the Chief of General Staff Operations Directorate Brigadier General Duško Žarković, visited the Army Command and a part of the Engineering units of the Army.
At the Army Command, the Russian delegation was received by the Deputy Army Commander Major General Želimir Glišović. The two generals discussed the cooperation so far, the participation of our armed forces in the International Army Games in the Russian Federation, and the possibilities for enhancement of further cooperation in the field of training.Continuing the visit to the Serbian Armed Forces, General Stavicky will visit today the First Pontoon Battalion of the River Fleet in the Mačva Partisan Detachment barracks in Šabac, where he will attend a practical demonstration of the work of the pontoon battalion on the mobile transportation of materiel over the river.
