Minister Vulin: The state takes care of members of the security sector
Today, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin has handed over the keys to 25 new apartments to active and retired members of the defence system, at Partizanske avijacije Street in Belgrade.
Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković and State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Bojan Jocić were also present at the key handing over ceremony.
According to Minister Vulin, in order for the armed forces to be strong and satisfied, we have to take care of improving the material position of each of our members.
- The armed forces have waited for a long time for solving the housing issues and we are making great efforts to shorten the waiting time and that every our member knows that their future is certain if they are in their armed forces and if they work, in order to be able to say that their country takes care about them. On the orders of Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić, the Government of the Republic of Serbia has set up a working group that will deal solely with the solving of housing issues of all members of the security sector. Both the military and the police and the BIA have the right to be taken care of. They are working hard, perhaps the hardest, and certainly the most responsible job in our country, and this is a way to thank them, the Minister of Defence said.
He added that due to this, a great process of housing provision for all our members will be launched.
- What we have done today is just a small part of this great plan that will enable all members of the security sector to know how much we appreciate them and their families to be taken care of. When you have military, police and a BIA that is strong and content, then you can say that you have a stable, safe and free country that will make independent decisions. This is a way to show that in the future the resolution of housing issues will be even faster, that there will be more and more of it, and that this is a way to say thank you for the long service, Minister Vulin said.
General Diković said that the Serbian Armed Forces and its members, in accordance with its constitutional role, carry out quite specific and difficult tasks that are related to the risk, and which require them to always be ready to sacrifice their lives for what has been determined for them by the Constitution.
- That is why special care must be taken of the status, standard and attitude towards these people, and this is a confirmation that management in the Ministry of Defence, headed by Minister Vulin, pays particular attention to this issue. This is a wonderful example and there will surely be more of them in the period to come. The next year, the status standard of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces will be the way they want it. It is only to continue this pace, which is another major obligation to work and carry out our tasks in the best possible way. This is demanded of us and everything else will be provided, the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces said.
Petar Jurošević, who has received today the keys of his new apartment in the building No. 24, thanked the President of the Republic of Vučić, the Government of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces who brought to an end solving the housing issue.
In 2017, construction of buildings No. 24 and 25 was completed at the location II of the Bežanijska kosa Community Centre in Belgrade, with 160 apartments.
