Serbian and American Paratroopers Carried Out the Jumps
Today, in the morning, the participants of the exercise “Winter 2017” carried out assault jumps over our air field in Kovin that had been planned to be conducted yesterday, but, due to bad weather they could not be conducted.
Right after 10 o’clock, two US planes C-130 “Hercules” took off from Batajnica air field towards the plane of Vojvodina. At 11 o’clock Serbian and American paratroopers commenced their jumps from the plane. The total of 120 paratroopers jumped from the height of 300 metres on the air field in Kovin.
In the period from 13th to 17th November, Serbian paratroopers with their US colleagues from 173rd Airborne Brigade of the United States European Command are going to conduct training that consists of ground preparations in the barracks “National Hero Stevica Jović” in Pančevo and two jumps, the one conducted today and another one planned to be carried out on Friday.
The paratroopers conducted the assault using US parachutes MC-6 with partially controlled dome and parachute T-11 that is used by many armed forces but which our paratroopers used for the first time.
