New Issue of “ODBRANA” Was Published
Soon, it will be ten years from the adoption of the Resolution on protection of sovereignty, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia, by which in its Article 6, National Assembly proclaimed military neutrality of the country “in relation to the existing military alliances”. This placed the issue of armed alignment “ad acta” until possible holding a referendum where the citizens would choose the colours of security umbrella, or they would, on the other hand, hold to their orientation to protect our doorstep on our own. Can our country persist in its policy of nonalignment in relation to great powers and security organisations? Is the decision passed under the burden of Kosovo issue more current today than ever and is there room for its reconsideration? These are the questions that will be the topic of the new issue of “Odbrana”.
The topic is followed by an interview with the Lieutenant Colonel Dr Veljko Blagojević, researcher in the Institute for Strategic Research. The interlocutor of our magazine spoke about the extent to which managing defence diplomacy of neutral states was incomparably more demanding than of the states, members of military-political alliances. We recommend to our readers a discussion with Prof Radomir Čolaković, the author of the book “Mobbing in Armed Forces” and the story on the occasion of the Armoured Units Day.
