“The Second Balkan Olympics of Art and Dance” Opened



Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin attended the ceremonial opening of the “Second Olympics of Art and Dance” at the Guard Club in Topčider. The event is taking place on 4th and 5th November and it is organised by the “Balkan Aliance” with the support of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
The ceremonial opening in the congress hall of the Guard Club started with the Parade of Flags and the review march-past of all competitors, the children of merry, radiant and happy faces.
 
- Dear parents and dear children, welcome to Serbia. It is my great honour to tell you, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, how much we appreciate you and welcome you as our guests. I wish you to be better than we were and that you generation never to know the war. I wish the countries where you are growing up and where you live to deserve your goodness and beauty. I wish you to fall in love with Serbia, to always return to Serbia and see how beautiful and great this place where you are staying is. I wish you to love your countries as much as we love our Serbia – Minister Vulin said officially opening the event.
 
For the second year in the row, as the Balkan Artistic Olympics, more than thousand participants, children and the youth from Russia, Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Belarus, Armenia, Moldova and Serbia present their talents as instrument players, vocal soloists, choir members and dances. Apart from the competition, the goal of this project from the cultural and educational sphere is to develop international friendly relations of Serbia with the states of the Balkans, Europe and Russia, as well as to enrich the educational system and patriotic awareness of the youth in the countries of the Balkans.
 
“The Second Balkan Olympics” in Belgrade, opens this year’s calendar of the “Balkan Alliance” which will be followed by “International Youth Olympics of Art and Dance” in Sofia (Bulgaria) in December. In the beginning of March 2018, the “Balkan Alliance” is organising “Balkan Olympic Festival of Art and Dance” in Niš, while in the end of March next year “Continental Olympics of Art and Dance” is scheduled to take place in Thessaloniki (Greece). Each event from the calendar is organised with the support of the highest state institutions and embassies of the participating countries. At the end the largest “Olympics of Art and Dance” is going to be organised in Moscow where the best of the best will have an opportunity to present their states.
