Exhibition of the Military Museum in Azerbaijan



In the framework of activities to observe the hundredth anniversary of the First World War, and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Azerbaijan, an exhibition of the Military Museum was opened in Baku under the title “Golgotha and Resurrection of Serbia in the First World War”. The author of the exhibition was Senior Curator of the Military Museum Anđelija Radović.

The exhibition presented a rich collection of photographs of the Military Museum covering the period of the First World War. Thematic segments encompassed the period of repression of Serbian civilians right after the Sarajevo assassination, victory of the Serbian army in the battles on Cer and Kolubara, Albanian Golgotha, disembarkation of the Serbian army on the island of Corfu and Vido late in 1915 and beginning of 1916, and the presentation of the contribution of the recuperated Serbian army in the allied breech of Thessaloniki front and liberation of the occupied fatherland in 1918.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Azerbaijan, Nebojša Rodić, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Belgrade Eldar Hasanov, representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives of state and diplomatic corps.
