New Edition of “ODBRANA” Was Published
The demonstration of a part of operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces “Freedom 2017” marked the period between the two issues of the magazine “Odbrana”. On the occasion of the Day of Liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War, 20th October, at “Batajnica” airfield, the public saw a demonstration of a joint action against terrorist. Also, the new MiG-29 planes were presented as well as the modern equipment for the units in line with the project “1500”, a part of arms and military equipment of our military and new products of Serbian defence industry. Serbian pilots and Russian aerobatic group “Strizhi” presented their flying skills. At this year’s 62nd International Book Fair in Belgrade, the Ministry of Defence and Media Centre “Odbrana” were represented with over 500 titles, 25 of them being new. There were even more novelties – to mark 70 years of “Zastava Film”, each day, films and serials filmed by this military-film establishment were screened. The appearance at the Fair was strengthened by expert public discussions about the topics that raise everybody’s concern.
A topic of one of the public discussions that attracted the attention of the experts refers to civil defence. This is precisely the problem that the new issue of our magazine deals with -“Concept of Total Defence”.
