Conference of the National Armaments Directors
Acting Assistant Defence Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović participated in the Conference of National Armaments Directors in Interoperability Platform (IP) format in Brussels.
At the meeting, attended by representatives of 45 countries, they reviewed the work of the Conference of National Armaments Directors in 2017 and outlined the progress in the work of the groups for niche capabilities that are being developed within the main service branch groups for armaments.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the possibilities offered by the cooperation with the commercial sector in the field of defence capabilities development, as well as the review of individual national solutions regarding access to innovations in the field of defence investments. Participants were addressed by a representative of the European Defence Agency who pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation within the European Defence Agency in the fields of research and development, joint capability building and cooperation with industry.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Nenad Miloradović talked with the national directors of Slovenia, Greece, Hungary and Romania about the current trends in the development and production of arms and military equipment, as well as the challenges that this process is facing. They also discussed potential joint projects, cooperation between defence industries, and the organisation of upcoming demonstration and live firings with weapons and military equipment of common interest.
The Conference of National Armaments Directors deals with activities related to the research, development and production of arms and military equipment and is open to cooperation with partner countries in accordance with their national needs and capabilities.
